BGP, CCIE study materials...

Well I have been gathering up study materials for my BGP exam next month, so far I have:

BGP Section, CCIE Routing and Switching Exam Certification Guide
BGP Section, Routing TCP/IP, Volume II
Implementing BGP Study Guide 3.2 vol I&2

I am also hoping to buy the Internetworking Expert CCIE 2.0 Program on Monday, so I can start through the BGP Vol I technology labs. I have booked my BGP exam for the 10th of July, but depending on how fast I get through the material above I might push it out a week or two.

Buying the CCIE 2.0 Program is a big step, both mentally and financially. To this point I have purchased a few CCIE books, but this really means that I'm going for it. I am really hoping to pass the written this year and then the lab next year!!

I have reviewed some of the IPExpert BLS and I think that IE is just better quality. I am also looking forward to the Open-Lecture classes, although due to me living in Ireland I am hoping that the class times are suitable... I think that having scheduled lectures will be an added bonus to my studying.

Another random note...I have recently joined up with a few fellow CCIE wannabes from techexams.net and hoping that will grow into something useful.

Shout out to redwarrior, from redwarrior.net...congrats on throwing your hat into the ring and committing to the CCIE. I would've replied on her blog, but I don't have a wordpress account...

Thanks for the shout!

I followed your blog before I knew you were a fellow techexam junkie and I'm excited about us both pursuing the lab next year...let's just hope I can keep up!

I also made some changes to my blog, so hopefully now people won't have to create a wordpress account to comment.

Good luck on your BGP exam...I really wish I had the time to do the CCIP exams as part of my CCIE preparation, but I'm not thinking it will work out between work and my timeline. From what I hear, it ought to definitely give you an advantage going in!

Do you have a tentative date to take the written yet?

Yeah hopefully the written sometime in December this year. Due to the busy work and home schedule I am trying to break the written down into "sections" which makes it easier for me to focus. I was trying to study for just the CCIE earlier this year and it just seemed to big. So this way I can knock out some of the big sections and get another professional level cert to go with it.

Yeah, excited about the trek this year and next. Just received the CCIE 2.0 program and it looks pretty good, so I'll be doing a review sometime soon on that.

Good luck on your studies!
