Passed the ISCW the other day to finally finish my CCNP. Actually a pretty tough exam, 75+ questions. I really wish there were more simulations though, I think the multiple choice just doesn't show how much you really know.
I had decided before that I would pursue my CCDA/P after my CCNP and I want to have them both finished by September. I was feeling quite motivated right after my exam but I have hit a lull...the CCDA book is quite dull. I think the fact that I am itching to get on with my CCIE studies is probably the reason that I am feeling unmotivated towards the CCDA/P. Once the baby is due in September I am imposing a ban on structured study(read disappearing at night from 9-11) until the new year. I then plan to hit QoS, MPLS, and BGP before June, completing my CCIP. My reasoning on those exams in that order are: I have already done a significant amount of study towards the QoS, so while the baby is still unpredictable I can hopefully nail that exam. BGP at the end to hopefully lead straight into the CCIE Written.
My Goals are:
- CCIP by June '09
- CCIE written Dec 1st '09
- CCIE lab Dec 1st '10
Planning to start reading Top Down Network Design, to hopefully get myself out of the funk.
Sidenote: I have been reading TCP/IP Vol. I before falling asleep every night and it is quite a book.
Thanks,
L6
